SPILLGLOP ® : Recovery in open water
- The SPILLGLOP range was specially designed for the recovery of floating waste offshore and more precisely to fight against major oil spills and discharges.
- These vessels work at 4 to 5 knots up to Beaufort force 5 to 6 included and clean a surface of 40,000 to 50,000m2 in an hour. SPILLGLOP collects up to 100 m3 hydrocarbons per hour without emulsification and transfers them progressively into a bunker barge following it. A bunker barge rotation allows unlimited recovery capability. The SPILLGLOP range is equipped with aluminium arms forming a rigid articulated trapezoid. These arms increase the working width up to 6 m and adapt to the swell.
- To fight HNS pollution, absorbents can be stored on-board and then spread out using the water system installed for fire fighting.
- The crew accomodation is overpressured with filtered incoming air, which gives a protected safe area for the crew working in a polluted hazardous atmosphere.
- A « Keel Cooling » system is installed on SPILLGLOP engines. The cooling of the engines is furthermore used to heat the hydrocarbons storage tank.
